High Functioning United

This is a social group for adolescents aged 13 to 17 with high functioning ASD/Aspergers. We get together, once a month to do all different types of activities.

The group was started by a young person with high functioning ASD. United Minds Community Services provides a venue for indoor activities, supervision and support with organisation and planning. Parental consent is needed to take part. Parents/Carers for in house activities there is a caregiver's waiting area with tea and coffee facitlities if you prefer to be close by for your young person due to a bit of anxiety or in case of the need to leave a little early if overwhelmed, however be aware that teens need to be able to communicate and manage during activities without one to one support for this group to really work for them. If you are unsure get in touch with belinda@unitedminds.org.au to talk it through
