Psychological Support
WHAT WE HELP WITH
Some of the main reasons people seek psychological support include depression, anxiety, adjustment, stress management, drug and alcohol, gambling and behavioural issues in children.
HOW WE HELP

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST
Sessions with a Psychologist for psychological support are $185 per hour for a general psychologist and $216 for a psychologist with a clinical endorsement. Sessions with a Mental Health Social Worker for psychological support are $175 per hour. A GP referral may entitle you to a Medicare rebate with both our psychologists and mental health social worker. We charge the recommended fee set by NDIS, Workcover, TAC and VOCAT for people referred under those systems.
We offer limited community funded sessions for people in financial hardship through our charity arm. We can also offer limited discount sessions for those who are struggling to cover the Medicare gap, but who may not otherwise be eligible for a community funded place. Currently, our community funded initiative is in its infancy and still raising much needed funds to help people access support. Psychological Assessments
WHAT WE HELP WITH
United Minds offers a comprehensive child, adolescent and adult assessment service, including:
- Cognitive/Giftedness assessments
- Educational assessment
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment
- ADHD assessment
HOW LONG DO THEY TAKE
The amount of time taken to complete a full assessment varies, depending on the reason for the assessment. Usually, you will have an initial assessment, one or more assessment sessions and then a feedback session. You will be given a full feedback report at your final session.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST
The cost of the assessment will depend on a number of factors. Our friendly intake team will discuss this further over the phone during intake. However, you can expect to pay $185 per 50-min session. In addition, there is a fee payable for the comprehensive report provided at the feedback session which varies from $550-905 (Inclusive of GST) per report. A Medicare rebate may be applied in some circumstances.

Relationship Counselling

Community Clinic
(NOW open)
WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY CLINIC
Our community clinic is a low cost clinic operated by provisional psychologists who are in their 6th year of training. They are heavily supervised by registered board approved supervisors.
HOW DO YOU HELP
Our provisional psychologists can offer the same services our fully registered psychologists can offer. This includes individual psychological therapy and psychological assessments.
WHAT ARE THE FEES
This service fee is heavily reduced and offered at a low rate of $85 per 50 minute session. Psychological assessments are also offered at a reduced rate. Please note: the student assessment service is only available to people who have a concession card. The counselling service is available for all community members.
