Our Charity Work

United Minds is a registered Charity with DGR status. We use our profits from our private clinic and engage the local community to support our work to help make therapy and psychological assessments accessible and affordable.

Our Supporter Program

Who can be a supporter

Any person or business can be a supporter.  This can be done as a supporter (donation) or sponsor.

Sponsor:

  • All sponsors are advertised and promoted.  We will share your logo and business name as a sponsor in communication with our referrers (local GP clinics), through community connections (e.g., sporting clubs), via our social media, on our website and on all invoicing.

Gift/Donation:

  • For those wishing to remain anonymous or benefit from our DGR status and claim the contribution as a donation, your contribution will be received as a gift with no material gain in return.  With your permission, we will list you on our website as a recognised supporter

We have major and minor support opportunities

Major Supporter:

  • These generous supporters provide a financial contribution to our community clinic, allowing us to deliver free psychological assessments and subsidised psychological therapy.

  • A major supporter usually involves supporting part of our work in our community clinic for a full term or semester.  A term-based support ranges from $10,000-$30,000.  Semester-based support ranges from $20,000-60,000.

Minor Supporter:

  • A minor supporter provides financial contribution to our community clinic based on individual assessments and groups of therapy.  A minor supporter may fund the cost of one or more full assessments, one program or one series of therapy.

  • A minor supporter of an assessment starts from $770 and the minor sponsorship of a series of 6 therapy sessions starts from $570.

Who does your support help?

Our sponsors help people in the local community who are unable to afford to see a private psychologist and speeds up the lengthy wait for those on public waitlists.

Assessments:

  • We provide a comprehensive assessment service.  A large number of our requests are for educational and neurodevelopmental (autism) assessments

  • Educational assessments help identify learning difficulties and giftedness and can be used to inform learning plans and school support

  • Neurodevelopmental assessments help diagnose autism and ADHD

  • We have a lot of families who use our reports to seek NDIS funding for their child

  • We have families with multiple children going through the assessment process which can be unaffordable for many

Therapy:

  • We work with people aged between 3 and 85

  • We support children around a range of issues including behavioural issues, learning difficulties, anxiety and depression, adjust to changes such as separating parents, bullying and school refusal

  • We work with adults around a range of issues including parenting matters, adjustment, grief and loss, relationship problems, drug and alcohol problems, gambling, life transitions, the transition to parenthood, anxiety and depression.

  • The rebated 10 Medicare sessions are quite often not enough, and many people stop seeking support, not because they are ready to, but because they can't afford to continue therapy.

What does being a supporter look like?

Our sponsorship program offer:

  • Community based acknowledgement of your sponsorship including the promotion of your business name and logo

  • A certificate of appreciation

  • A brief summary of the outcome of your support to give you insight into the number of people and hours we spent helping the local community, who we helped (assessments or therapy) and what we helped with (autism assessments, therapy for separating families etc)

Our supporter Initiative looks like:

  • Your contribution is fully tax deductible as we are a charity with DGR status

  • A tax compliant receipt and certificate of appreciation for your generous contribution
